Sperando di avere ben mirato il tuo cuore, con affetto (Hoping I have aimed well at your heart, with aﬀection) originates from the discovery of two black-and-white photographs taken in diﬀerent places and times, telling a unique story of love and death. The title is handwritten in pencil on the back of one of these two photos-a promise of love. Perhaps.

Femicide refers to the killing of a woman, and a common form of violence is domestic violence, often perpetrated by family members and partners. However, the term “femicide” does not encompass its meaning solely in the final act of killing a woman. Rather, it identifies a much broader phenomenon that

includes a multitude of behaviors such as mistreatment, physical, psychological, sexual, educational, or economic violence, primarily committed by men in work, family, or social contexts. Collectively, these behaviors undermine a woman’s freedom, dignity, and integrity, and can culminate in murder, attempted murder, or severe forms of suﬀering.

So, what can be done? From a social and political perspetive,

it is crucial to address femicide as an issue that cannot be ignored. The photographic project aims to provide a visual narrative on the ambiguity of the word love, which is often misused. This will be conveyed through my photographs and various materials from other archives, such as postcards, photographs, drawings, and more.
